INTERNATIONAL GREYHOUND PLANET DAY
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2009

Christ Church Cathedral Hall
420 Sparks Street (free parking beside Church)

10:00am to 4:00pm

What is it?

The greyhound, one of the most ancient of breeds, has had a remarkably colourful history, starting with its role as a supreme hunting dog, its changing role as a coursing dog, to its current status as track racing dog, show dog and loving companion. The greyhound is possibly the forerunner of a breed of canines belonging to the "sight-hound" family, and is undoubtedly the best known of the breed.

Greyhound Planet is a time chosen each year to honour the greyhound and its relatives (galgos, lurchers, etc.) throughout the world.  Bring the whole family and meet some retired racing greyhounds up close and chat with their adoptive families.  Learn more about these canine athletes, have a bite to eat, hang out and have some fun.

Everyone and their canine companions (leashed) are welcome.

$5.00 Family Entrance Fee

Special Offer

Angel Ornament - A Greyhound Supporters Fundraiser

The Greyhound Supporters is working with Jackie Genaille of Avon on a special fundraiser – just in time for Planet Day and Christmas.

Avon is offering a boxed set of four glass Angel Christmas Ornaments for $10.00/box (including tax) of which 45% goes to the Greyhound Supporters.  Each Angel ornament in the boxed set is unique.  Not only can these angels be used as Christmas tree ornaments, they can also be used as place card holders to decorate your table during the holiday season.  The boxed set comes with 8 place-cards for that purpose.

You can order your Angels in advance by contacting Jackie at genaille@3web.com or you can purchase them at Planet Day.
